Rebel Wilson had a really fun birthday. We know because she tweeted all about it. The rising star who is definitely having a successful 2019, posted some videos showcasing her birthday.
The actress was surprised by some friends who took her Beverly Hills for a Cats-themed dance workout. Wilson ended up calling it Catzercise. Why Cats-themed? Rebel Wilson is the new Jennyanydots for Universal’s upcoming film-version of Cats.
The videos showcase Rebel in pink furry ears and gloves. The actress turned 39 on March 2nd and treated herself to a cake-making class at the Milk Bar before being surprised by her friends who star in the video with her.
Wilson is certainly excited about her upcoming musical excursion as she tweeted a photo of a stage-version of Cats she attended. The actress posed with the cast and lauded them for an incredible performance.
In Cats, Wilson will join such names as Idris Elba, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, and Judi Dench. It is set to hit theaters December 20th. Cats is part of an influx of musical movies that began in 2012 with Les Misérables. Since Les Miz a number of musical movies have graced film and television.
The most notable among them have been Into the Woods, the Greatest Showman, La La Land, and Mamma Mia. For Wilson, Cats is not just a great role in an iconic Broadway classic, it is the crescendo to a successful year.

The role brought her some attention but Pitch Perfect is the one that really made her take off. Wilson’s turn as Fat Amy became a signature part of the three-film franchise and granted Wilson nationwide acclaim. Now, in the year 2019, Wilson has four films and a T.V. production slated to come out.
The first is already in theaters. It is the rom-com set within another rom-com called Isn’t It Romantic.
The satire stars Wilson in the lead role acting alongside Liam Hemsworth and Adam DeVine. Isn’t It Romantic is Wilson’s first foray in the captain’s seat as she is usually relegated to supporting roles. So far it is doing well in the box office.
Her next film is a remake of the classic caper comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. This version is called the Hustle and stars Wilson in the Steve Martin role with Anne Hathaway playing the Michael Caine role.
Cats is the last film Wilson is slated to be in for 2019, and given that is a long-standing Broadway favorite, it is a great film to finish the year with.
