Greg Secker on Philanthropy and Business

In a recent interview with Inspirey, British entrepreneur and philanthropist Greg Secker talked about the demanding life of being a father, focusing on investing, and the need to give back to those in need.

Having started out like anyone else at Thomas Cook Financial, Secker eventually gained enough experience and industry recognition to become Vice President of Mellon Financial Corporation, a prominent investment bank in the US. Despite succeeding in the world of big banks and corporate boards, Secker went on to start his own ventures. These experiments in investing required disciplined budgeting and patience, but Virtual Trading Desk eventually grew into a profitable investment platform that helps anyone access Forex trading without a broker.

But Secker admits that the success he’s had as an entrepreneur wouldn’t be possible without the support system he’s found in family, friends, and reliable partners in business. This had led tot he development of successful ideas, like his speaking tours where he’s met many promising businesspersons looking for the tools to success, tools he could offer to others.

The convergence of these can perhaps be found in the development of Knowledge to Action. It’s one of Secker’s ventures which helps people experiencing hard times have a chance to get their lives on track. The ability to help others get an opportunity to get things right after failing the first time around continues to remind Secker the importance of making attempts even when the outcome is not entirely certain.

About Greg Secker:

Greg Secker is a British entrepreneur and philanthropist from Norfolk, England. His career in investment began at Thomas Cook Financial, which soon transitioned to an international focus with his business Virtual Trading Desk, an online Forex trading service. A passion for investing and a desire to help others succeed led to the creation of Learn to Trade, a series of seminars and workshops on the basics of trading in stocks and currency markets.

Secker’s passion for giving back has led to his involvement in several charitable causes like the Tusk and Child Bereavement Trust. Eventually Secker set up his own foundation that focuses on less fortunate youth, helping them develop basic life skills and leadership qualities.
